As a big fan of Cthulhu related stuff, I get through a lot, so I wanted to put together a personal list of the best of the best Cthulhu, Mythos and Lovecraft related things. There are daily distractions: comic books mostly, and movie rentals, my video store carries Starlog and Fangoria. The best Cthulhu Mythos tales, after Lovecraft's own are, for me anyway, the subtlest in declaring their allegiance. It was a very limited print run and quickly sold out. Years spent on the fringes of Cthulhu Mythos fandom have conditioned me to dislike August Derleth. Forty years later, he revived Lovecraft's memory in a novel that--although it is included in tales of the Cthulhu Mythos--bears little resemblance to any that I know that preceded it.
